Dear Teens, Parents and Parishioners,
I hope and pray everyone is staying healthy and safe in this time. It’s a new month and we may still be wor- ried about what is going on in our daily lives amidst of all the uncertainty. One thing that we are sure of is that Jesus is still alive and there for you.
There is Hope among all of the uncertainties that are in our everyday lives. By the cross we have hope (1 Peter 1:21, 3:15). Through Jesus’ death on the cross we know we have a way through our pains and stress of what is going on around us.
Through the Psalms we can find that We are not helpless (Psalm 33:20, Psalm 89:26, Isaiah 52:12). We are also called to Pray (1 Timothy 2:1-5).
In this call to Prayer as a Church on July 31st The Church celebrates St. Ignatius. St. Ignatius gave us his spiritual exercise which invites us to a Deeper Friendship and Intimacy with God. If you would like to take your prayer life deeper or a new way to pray, you can find Ignatius Spiritual Exercise at:
http://www.ignatianspirituality.com/ignatian-prayer/the-spiritual-exercises/an-ignatian-prayer-adventure/
This prayer adventure can be done every day for 8 days or once a week. This may be an old way of praying or a new adventure for you. Either way I hope this can be a way of coming closer to Our Lord in a troubled world.
Love and Prayers,
Joann Giuffre Youth Minister
